1941 – 2022

Robert Henry Bless, Jr., “Bob”, a longtime resident of West Annapolis passed away suddenly on May 22, 2022. He was born in Baltimore on May 26, 1941; the son of Robert H. Bless and Patricia King Hall. He was a member of the West Annapolis Volunteer Fire Dept. in the 1950s and 1960s and was awarded medals of heroism by them and the Maryland Police Association. Mr. Bless served on the Admirals Staff during the Vietnam War on the USS Yorktown and USS Bennington. He retired from Nationwide Insurance and was currently employed as the bridge tender on the Weems Creek Bridge. He enjoyed traveling, yard sales and Texas Hold ‘Em. Mr. Bless is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joy Sunderland Bless; and his sons: E. Damian Bless of Las Vegas and Christopher D. Bless of Annapolis.
