1942 – 2023

Charles F. Cook Jr. Buddy, 80, of Wrentham, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 27, 2023.
Born in Boston, MA on September 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Charles Cook Sr. and Rita (Colleran) Cook.
Buddy was raised in West Roxbury and enlisted in the US Navy upon graduation from Roslindale High School. He served on the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown in the Pacific during the Vietnam war as an aircraft mechanic. He met and married his wife Lucille and moved to Wrentham where they raised their three daughters. He was a well known and respected mechanic, having built the garage where he operated his own auto repair business, Bs Tire & Auto Repair, for almost 50 years. He was a man of many trades and was known for being able to fix just about anything. He would even make his own tools when needed. He had a love for auto racing and built and drove his NASCAR late model stock car at the old Norwood Arena and Thompson International Speedway in CT. He would later put his daughter Jennifer in the race car he built and they shared the hobby for many years. He was an avid gardener and built a vegetable stand for his young daughters so they could earn money selling the produce and corn. He taught his daughters to be self-sufficient and independent, teaching them how to change the oil in their cars amongst many other things. He especially wanted them to take pride in their work. His four grandchildren also followed in their Mothers footsteps fixing their bikes and big wheels with Grampys tools in the garage. Anyone who knew Buddy could always find him in his garage. His garage is a special place for all of us who knew and loved him.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Lucille Cook, and their three daughters, Katie Camara and her husband Keith of Wrentham; Jennifer Cook of Norwood; and Tracey Silveira and her husband Josh of Wrentham.
Buddy was the loving grandfather to Abigail Camara, Martin Silveira, Andrew Camara, and Kevin Silveira. Beloved brother of Judy Peterson and Leo Cook.
Buddy was predeceased by his two brothers, Ronald Cook and Richard Cook.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and his beloved cat, Smokey.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday, June 30th from 4PM – 7PM in the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham.
