LUNDHOLM, DOLPH

1932 – 2023

Dolph Lundholm, born Adolph Earl Lundholm, came into the world in Lebanon, Oregon on January 5, 1932. The son of Adolph and May Brown Lundholm, he was their only child. He passed away on March 23, 2023 in Yuma, Arizona.

Dolph grew up and went to school in Lebanon, Oregon, graduating from Lebanon High School in 1950. Starting with a grade school drum and bugle corp., he was active in music for much of his life. Playing trumpet and cornet, he won achievement awards while in high school, attended the University of Oregon School of Music and the Naval School of Music in Washington, D.C. Enlisting in the Navy in 1952, he served on the aircraft carrier Yorktown during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1956 and spent four more years in the Naval Reserve.

On October 25, 1957, he married Betty Kofoid in Lebanon, Oregon. Through the years, they lived in Eugene, Albany, and Florence, Oregon, moving to Yuma in 2011. They had various businesses including Dolph’s Music Mart in Eugene, Oregon and The Beaver State Advertiser in Albany, Oregon. Dolph was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many callings including Bishop’s Counselor and High Council Representative. Dolph and Betty served a two-year mission in Sydney, Australia supporting Family History Centers in the South Pacific area.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Karen Knerr (Tim); Eric Lundholm (Bonnie), and grandchildren, Jeff Knerr, Sarah Peterson, Emily Darquea, Kristine Rivas, James Lundholm, Rebecca Sandkamp, and 10 great grandchildren.
