MARSDEN, RICHARD
1933 – 2025
Richard “Luke” T. Marsden, age 91, of Bensalem, PA., passed away on Sunday, January 26th, 2025.
Richard was born in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia where he attended Dobbins Technical High School. After high school Richard enlisted in the US Navy during the Korean War, where he later re-enlisted in the US Navy reserves where he served a total of 21 years.
Richard met the love of his life, Gertrude “Trudi” Sweeney, and they married in 1960 where they raised their five children in Bensalem, PA. Richard worked for Bell of PA for 33 years as a systems installer. He later started his own business installing phone systems. Richard was a Boy Scout for 70 years, including Scoutmaster for 3 different troops.
Richard was the devoted husband of the late Gertrude “Trudi” (nee Sweeney). Loving father of Cynthia (Demetrius Trihoulis) Reiff, Luke (Eleonora Viceconte), Andrew (Mary), Jocelyn (Matthew) Borkowski, and Timothy (Lynn). He is also survived by his 16 devoted grandchildren and 10 loving great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Richard’s viewing on Friday Evening, January 31st from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Fluehr Funeral Home 864 Bristol Pike (Rt 13) Bensalem, PA. 19020. And again on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo 1731 Hulmeville Road. Bensalem, PA 19020, from 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM. Where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM.
Richard’s interment will be held at St. Dominic’s Cemetery. 8504 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136.
