1929 – 2023

Orval Warren Redhair, 94, of Gloucester, VA, passed away on Saturday, March 4th, at his home. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa and was the son of the late Orval and Katherine Redhair. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Navy having served on the UUS Yorktown, CVN-10. He was a teacher in the York County Public County School and was principal of Seaford School, and was a former member of the York County School Board. He was a diehard golfer and and avid Pittsburgh Steeler Fan.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Tom Redhair and is survived by his daughter Kathy James(Jim) and son Paul James(Cindy Lou), his companion Amelia “Millie” Blackburn, Lisa and M. Lee Blackburn. Kim and David Pickett, a granddad for Younder and Nova Ealisa and Heathers grandkids Tim and Grayland Nelson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March, 13, 2023 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:00 am at Windsor Gardens Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to York Foundation of Public Education, PO Box 1771, Yorktown, Va 23692, Attn York County School Board, Band Division.
