1937 – 2023

Donald Paul Rosignol (85) of Wichita Falls, TX died at his home on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Don was born March 17, 1937 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Everett and Vera (Stephens) Rosignol. Don graduated from Wichita Falls High School, worked with his dad on oil rigs for a year, then joined the US Navy where he served for 23 years. Don welcomed younger brothers Ron and Carl to the family and together they were known as The Three Musketeers. In 1964 Don married the love of his life, JoAnn Harrington, and together they welcomed 2 children to their family, Rusty and Kimberly. JoAnn died in 2017 and Don grieved her death the rest of his life. During his service years in the US Navy, Don served on destroyers and aircraft carriers during the Vietnam War and Cuban Missile Crisis, including the USS Hollister, USS Lexington, USS Yorktown, and USS Randolph. Don later served recruitment duty and security before retiring in 1979 to Wichita Falls where he resided until his death. Don is predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife JoAnn. He is survived by children Rusty (Brenda) of Bridge Creek, OK and Kim of Florida; brothers US Marine Veteran Ron (Dawn) of Albuquerque, NM and US Navy Veteran Carl (Donna) of Breckenridge, TX; grandchildren Brandon Russell Rosignol, Joanna Lemane, Victoria Lemane, and Christopher Lemane; great granddaughter Lucy Rosignol; 4 nephews, 1 niece, many cousins and friends. A service in celebration of Don’s life will be held at 10:00am on Friday, March 17th, what would have been Don’s 86th birthday, at Park Place Christian Church, 4400 Call Field Rd. in Wichita Falls.
