1945 – 2024
Joseph “Joe” Vincent Glazier, Jr., of Cape May Court House, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2024 at the age of 79.
Joe was born on May 5, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph and Jeannette Glazier. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Alexander Glazier and his sister-in-law Catherine. He is survived by a son Joseph Robert Glazier of Cape May Court House, NJ, two nieces Angela Glazier Micewski and Julie Glazier along with their children, and his girlfriend Sue Godown.
Joe served four years in the U.S. Navy and is a retiree from the Federal Government Naval Inventory Control Point in Philadelphia, PA.
For many years he was extremely active in the American Legion. He served as the Eastern Vice Commander of the State of PA and as the State Commander of PA. He was founder and mentor of the American Legion Keystone Boys State Foundation.
Being from Philadelphia, he loved the Eagles football team and loved Notre Dame. He also enjoyed playing golf once a week in the summer with members of the Sea Isle City VFW. He loved spending time at his and his son’s second home in Cochranton, PA, where he enjoyed nature and deer hunting with his son, his late brother, and various friends. A new passion during the past few years was taking cruises with his girlfriend Sue. A cruise to Alaska was already booked for his 80th birthday in 2025.
He was a Trustee at Seaville United Methodist Church and was currently involved with remodeling the parsonage.
