LAMB, MYRON

1937 – 2023

Myron “Mike” Clark Lamb, a beloved father, stepfather, brother, uncle, and devoted friend, died at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Virginia Beach on October 17, 2023, at the age of 86.

Mike was born in Sacramento, California, on January 31, 1937 to Francis Arthur Lamb and Dorothy Caroline Thompson.

He joined the United States Navy at age 17, retiring in Norfolk, Virginia in 1973. He attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer, served in the Vietnam War in the early 1960s, was surface warfare qualified, and over his 20-year Navy career earned the following medals: Joint Service Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Good Conduct (3), National Defense (2), Vietnam Service (3) and Republic of Vietnam Campaign. After retiring from the Navy, he had a very successful career as a real estate appraiser.

He is survived by his children Cynthia Lamb (Suzette Rochat), Michael FJ Lamb, Sheila Stratton (Roger Renkin), stepson Lawrence Hewitt, sister Ellen E. Rebitzke, sisters-in-law Nita Williams, Judy Moore, and Mildred Gackstater, his first wife, Diane Duran, and numerous nieces and nephews. His beloved wife, Iris, stepson Richard Hewitt Jr., and sisters Eunice and Martha preceded him in death.

Family and friends will gather to honor Mike’s life during a Celebration of Life on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 10 a.m. for viewing and reception, with service at 11. The event will take place at Altmeyer Funeral Home, located at 5033 Rouse Drive in Virginia Beach. Interment will be held at Albert G. Horton in Suffolk, Virginia at 1.
